Elocution & Extempore
A speaking competition on mental well-being — part of the Mental Health Awareness Campaign 2026.
Open only to the 64 participating institutes of the ICMR Student Wellbeing Project’s Kerala site in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. School students take part in Elocution; college students take part in Extempore.

How it works
- First round at participating institutesEach listed project institute holds its own round on a mental-health topic chosen by the institute and picks one student per category to represent it (Elocution for School, Extempore for College).
- Live grand finalSelected students perform live at the concluding ceremony and are judged separately for School and College. Delivery time: up to 4 minutes.
Good to know
- Deliver independently, do not read from prepared notes at the final, and keep to the time limit.
- Language: Malayalam.
- One student per category nominated per institute.
- Respectful language and content only.
- The judging panel's decision is final.
Prizes
Prizes are awarded per competition and per category, with School and College judged separately.

How to enter
Through the institute coordinator. Each institute may nominate one student per category by 9 October 2026. [Institute coordinator contact — provided by each institute]
Participants confirm that their entry is their own original work and agree to the campaign using it for non-commercial awareness purposes. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the consent section of the form. We collect only the details needed to run the competition and contact winners.
